The Mercer Scaffolding team have been busy in London with their recent project taking them to another Peabody Estate, this time in Shadwell E1. Over a 24 week period, 17,000 square meters of independent light duty access scaffold was constructed using a readylock system in order to enable remedial works on flats in Elf Row and Glamis Place.
Anthony and his team quickly established good dialect with the local residents, enjoying the challenge of working on a building of delicate status (Grade II Listed), ensuring they were mindful of tying patterns and methods. They had to construct various intricate beam works as per design drawings supplied by Timothy Burt, IDH. This was necessary due to the presence of coal chutes surrounding the perimeter which also led to basing out and underpinning challenges for the team.
