Mercer are currently recruiting scaffolders, drivers and labourers. Prospective candidates should be enthusiastic with a positive attitude towards work. Scaffolders will be challenged with a mixture of works, from domestic street scaffolding to commercial on site projects. Company drivers are responsible for transporting scaffolding equipment and team members to various jobs. Labourers have the opportunity through hard work and dedication to become qualified scaffolders.

Junior Estimator Roles & Responsibilities: - To prepare quotations / prices for company job enquiries, starting with small domestic projects and moving up to large commercial once established. - To attend various sites and job locations for measuring and preparing quotations / prices. - To utilise measurements and any other relevant information provided by customers, through their drawings and schedules. - To meet company target response times for pricing new work and raise the standard for all staff. - To ensure quotations remain industry competitive, whilst meeting profitability targets. - To support the Contracts Managers and other team members in meeting their contract objectives. - To reduce the work load burden on other team members by quickly and efficiently pricing works. - To quickly become expert on using StrikeSoft software as a useful tool for managing the company's workflow. - To develop a strong commercial awareness. Supervisor / H & S Assistant Roles & Responsibilities: - To effectively lead and supervise onsite teams to successful contract completion. - To liaise with customers at site level and build positive working relationships where required. - To work with and report to the Contracts Manager regarding onsite performance. - To ensure labour values are being maintained at the percentages set out by the Contracts Manager. - To ensure that Health & Safety standards are maintained at the highest level. - To ensure onsite Health & Safety audits are carried out periodically and the resulting action plans are fulfilled. - To conduct periodic Toolbox Talks, PPE and equipment inspections, in relation to Health & Safety. - To ensure the completion of annual company H&S objectives in accordance with key industry accreditations and company policy. - To maintain and obtain relevant Health & Safety qualifications, by keeping up to date with regulations. Contracts Manager Roles & Responsibilities: - To have the ability to carry out supervisor and estimator roles & responsibilities, this can be demonstrated through previous work experience. - To take initial enquiries and respond efficiently, managing customer expectations. - To build strong long term relationships with clients, to help ensure repeat business. - To make commercially viable decisions when managing and fulfilling contracts. - To manage subordinates and relevant project staff effectively from inception to completion. - To provide site specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to commencement of works. - To price any contract variations as and when they occur, keeping the client well informed. - To oversee the day to day running of projects, ensuring that agreed works are carried out. - To work with other team members to strategise on company growth and expansion.
